Juliana
Lam was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and began
her music studies at the age of 4 where she received
many years of formal training in classical piano
and contemporary voice. As a child, she competed
and won at numerous music festivals and earned honours
at Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. At
the age of 16, she started her successful music
studio teaching piano and theory. Currently she
teaches 25 students at her studio in New Westminster
where her students have received first class honours
at RCM examinations.
Her early childhood education career began right
after the birth of her first child in 2002, when
she became extremely fascinated with baby brain
development and infant stimulation. She began as
a music and movement educator working with parents
and their babies - newborn to age 3.5. Juliana then
furthered her training and became certified to teach
Baby Sign Language and Infant Massage.
Being a firm believer of infant stimulation, Juliana
believes that in order to develop a well balanced
brain and exceptional thinking skills, it is vital
to stimulate babies with activities that use both
the left and right side of the brain. Juliana seeks
to promote teaching new parents to stimulate baby's
brain soon after they are born by optimizing their
mental, sensorial, social and affective development.
She is extremely proud of her capability and dedicates
her abilities as an educator to bringing knowledge
into the lives of new parents in a positive, supportive
and encouraging way.
Besides being mom of 2, Juliana is very active
in her community. She currently sits on her daughter's
minor hockey team committee and is assistant coach.
Juliana was formerly Director of the New Westminster
Walk for Wishes, a sub-chapter of the Children's
Wish Foundation of Canada, formerly Vice-Chair
person for the Parent Advisory Committee of her
daughter's preschool, and she has recently returned
as Block Watch Coordinator and member of her strata
council. Juliana also runs a multimedia business
for web and print design and has returned for more
schooling to become a licensed Mortgage Broker.
In the Fall, she will study Early Childhood Education
and become Montessori certified.
"With the right stimulation at the right
time, you can help to increase your child's brain
power from the very start."
